Antique Built-In Wardrobe (Restoration, Refinishing and Installation)

Two mid 19th century white oak built-in wardrobes were stripped of white paint, restored, refinished and installed in a major house remodeling in the north Georgia foothills. The client found the wardrobes in a yard sale in Tennessee and designed the home remodeling project around these fine pieces.

The photos of the painted wardrobe components are prior to restoration and refinishing. They were photographed lying on their backs in the earlier stages of remodeling construction. These components were transported to our workshop where they were stripped and assembled. Missing pieces were then fabricated and the units were restored to their original function. Upon completion of the refinishing, the units were transported to the job site and installed in the appropriate locations just prior to final finishing of the rooms.
